Lately, from what I’ve seen about coding with AI, vibe coding, agents and all that, it honestly feels like it takes way too much time and planning. You have to explain everything to the AI, step by step, then review whatever it generates, fix misunderstandings, guide it again… and in the end you realize you could’ve just written the whole thing yourself.
To get good results you basically need a detailed plan of what needs to be built, how the parts should work, what rules to follow — pretty much the entire architecture. But if I already have to prepare everything at that level, set up the environment for the AI to work “properly,” then check and adjust what it did… it stops being worth it.
The time you spend managing the AI could just be spent coding. In many cases you’re better off doing it yourself and using AI only to enhance your actual hands-on work, not replace it.
